Popular beautician, Sally Onome Okunzuwa dies from carbon-monoxide poisoning

Friends and family members have taken to social media to mourn the death of popular beautician, Sally Onome Okunzuwa. 

The late beautician died from monoxide poisoning in her hotel room in Obudu, Calabar on August 23. She was reportedly discovered dead after burning charcoal in her room to keep her warm in the night. 

A post shared on Sally's Instagram page read; 

It is with deepest regret we bring to your knowledge the sudden demise of our beloved daughter, sister and boss Sally Onome Okunzuwa CEO SALLY SIGNATURE SALOON AND SPA.

Who left this world to a better place On the 23rd of August 2020 due to Carbon monoxide poisoning.

Barcelona wanted Victor Osimhen to replace Luis Suarez' - Osimhen's manager, Roberto Calenda reveals

Roberto Calenda, manager to Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen has claimed that Barcelona was interested in bringing him to replace Luis Suarez before Napoli sealed a five-year deal believed to be worth up to €80 million with Lille to sign the Nigerian striker.

Osimhen netted 18 competitive strikes last season in France and afer signing for Napoli made an impression by scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist in an 11-0 friendly win over Italian fourth division side L’Aquila during a last Friday.

Calenda has now revealed that Osimhen would have been playing for Barcelona if the Spanish club were more serious.

"I usually never talk about these things, out of respect for professionalism and the club. It is right that Napoli say things as they went, they are the main players,” Calenda told Radio Marte.

“I can say that it was a well-conducted negotiation by the parties, we started from a distance. The signing took place with constant communication and we were good at keeping track of it.

“[It was a] difficult operation, Tottenham and Liverpool wanted Osimhen until the end, even Barcelona initially wanted him instead of Suarez. Napoli, however, did everything. They wanted him and took him."

Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso stated that Osimhen needs time to gel with his teammates as he is not a Maradona kind of signing and Calenda feels same way.

"The boy [Osimhen] is an exemplary professional, very serious and very serene. This is important when you get to teams where there have been players who have made football history,” Calenda continued.

“The coach's [Gattuso] words are right: you have to wait and give him time because he comes from far away, he must adapt to our championship and our customs. But without a shadow of a doubt he has great talent and I am sure he will prove it because he has some important characteristics."

A Nigerian photographer has accused Burna Boy of intellectual theft in his recently released 'Twice as Tall' album. 

@webgod30 in his tweet, alleged that the singer stole the idea of the cover photo for his album from a 2019 photo he shared.  

He tweeted;

3 trucks, 1 tanker crush danfo bus in Lagos road crash, 2 women dead

The accident was a result of reckless driving according to LASEMA

Two women were killed in a multiple truck accident that happened in the Gbadaga area of Lagos late on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.Two tipper trucks, one loaded tanker, and a 40ft containerized truck crushed a commercial bus at Anthony inward Gbagada.

Occupants of the bus were trapped inside, as the accident caused an obstruction on the road, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).The agency rescued six adults and one child from the wreckage in a recovery operation that lasted till early Wednesday, September 2.

The rescued passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were given first aid treatment by paramedics onsite before they were transferred to Gbagada General Hospital.The accident was a result of reckless driving according to LASEMA's director-general, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.

He commiserated with the families of the dead, and appealed to truck drivers to drive within the required speed limit and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy.The vehicles involved in the accident were recovered from the scene and handed over to police officers from the Pedro Division.
