I have never contemplated leaving the PDP let alone joining the APC - Governor Bala Mohammed

 I have never contemplated leaving the PDP let alone joining the APC - Governor Bala Mohammed

Governor Bala Mohammed has ruled out plan of dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).

A statement released by the governor’s media aide Mukhtar Gidado, debunked report of the Bala being among the three opposition governors negotiating to join the ruling party.

The statement read;

“We wish to state that the story is disingenuous speculation driven by a clear marketing urge, to feed the appetites of readers whose hunger for salacious political news has been fuelled by the movement of the Ebonyi State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Dave Umahi, to the APC and the spate of political alignments and realignments, in the country.

“We wish to state that His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed, has never contemplated leaving the PDP, let alone joining the APC.

“Rather, he is presently preoccupied with fulfilling those campaign promises, on the basis of which the good people of Bauchi State supported him to defeat an incumbent administration.”

Admitting that the Legislature and the Executive in Bauchi is controlled by different political parties, Bala averred that they have constructed a novel bipartisan arrangement whereby the government of the state was jointly run, in the war against hunger and other challenges in the state.

The statement added;

“To any patriotic politician, a huge challenge of this nature calls for full-time engagement and not political fortune-hunting.

Based on the above, Governor Bala Mohammed considers talks about decamping to another party and all the permutations about 2023, in the first place, as unwholesome distractions."

Bala described the claims of planned defection as premature and the height of insensitivity to the yearnings of the electorate for transformational change that would improve their living.

He called on his supporters, members of the PDP, as well as residents of Bauchi to ignore the report and further reassured them of his administration’s resolve to ensure the good life for all residents irrespective of their party affiliation, gender, tribe, or creed.

The only person from south-east in Aso Villa is a photographer - Abaribe

 The only person from south-east in Aso Villa is a photographer - Abaribe

Senate minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe has stated that the only person from south-east in Aso Villa is a photographer.

Abaribe said this when he featured on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily programme. The Senator who described Governor David Umahi's defection as a mere occurrence which will be evaluated properly during the next presidential election, stressed the need for back channels in government which according to him is the reason for the relevance of Mamman Daura, Buhari’s nephew in the present administration.

He said;

“Before, every part of this country was represented in the Aso Villa, so when you want to do government business because sometimes government business is done from back channels, so if you have a problem or they want to do some consultations, you make a call into the Villa, you call to your countryman and say please, can you tell oga this or that so that we can have this talk, there is none today inside the villa. There’s one guy, his name is Sunny, I think he’s a photographer.

“So, Umahi is going to talk to who? Ok, because he is governor, he can talk to chief of staff, he can go to see the president but what about others?”

There are however nine presidential aides who are from the south-east zone.

Nobody can dictate and threaten us over 2023 presidential ticket – APC

 Nobody can dictate and threaten us over 2023 presidential ticket ? APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it will not allow anyone blackmail or threaten the party over where it should zone its 2023 presidential ticket to.

The ruling party which reacted to statements by some southern leaders; Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Mbazulike Amaechi and Idongesit Ikanga, adviced Southern leaders to lean to lobbying as there is no need to overheat the polity with the ticket for 2023.

APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Nabena Yekini said in the statement;

“They don’t have any right to tell people what to do. It is not by force, threat or intimidation but by negotiation. If they feel strongly about the ticket, they should form their own political party and give their ticket to whichever zone they want to produce the president in 2023.

“It is called politics because you cannot impose anybody on any person. It is a game of numbers. The Southeast must lobby and tell other regions what they have for them. By the way, it is even too early to talk about zoning in 2023. Instead of heating up the polity,  they should resort to alliance, lobbying and consultations."

Man is jailed for having sex with chickens and his own dog, resulting in the death of 15 chickens

 Man is jailed for having sex with chickens and his own dog, resulting in the death of 15 chickens

A supermarket worker has been arrested and banned from keeping animals for life after admitting to having sex with chickens and a dog.

Shane Waters' crimes were exposed after a farmer discovered a number of the birds at his Accrington farm in England were injured and dead.

On September 19 2020, the farmer at Lower Holker Farm, Accrington, opened his chicken shed to discover a number of dead and injured birds.

Fearing "something sexual" had happened to them, he checked CCTV and called in the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

The CCTV footage showed Waters prowling around the man's farm before leaving the barn at 11.40pm.

He was arrested on September 23 and told officers: "I need help. I know what I have done. I just get these urges."

Waters, 40, also admitted having sex with his own pet dog and has now been jailed for 30 months, according to Lancashire Live.

Burnley Crown Court heard Waters, a supermarket stock checker, has previous convictions for abusing horses in 1997 and 2016.

Judge Sara Dodd said the case was "as unusual as it is disturbing" as she handed down his sentence.

During his interview, Waters told police he had been on the farm on about nine previous occasions "but usually only had sex with one chicken".

Barbara Webster, prosecuting, said: "He did not like performing the act and said sorry to the chickens after."

The court heard a total of 15 chickens died as a result of Waters’ abuse.

He also admitted having intercourse with his pet dog over a four month period, but said the dog "did not like it and growled and bit him".

Anna Chestnut, defending, said Waters hoped to rebuild his life upon his release from prison.

She said: "This is not the person he wants to be. He is thoroughly disgusted by his behaviour."

Judge Dodd said: "As I understand it, at least 15 chickens died as a result of your sordid sexual activity.

"Those who kept the chickens are understandably horrified and appalled by what you have done.

"I have no doubt anyone hearing the details of this case will be disgusted.

"Your conduct is distressing and truly worrying, particularly in light of your previous convictions."

The judge made an indefinite criminal behaviour order banning waters from keeping animals, and made him subject to notification for life.
