 Boko Haram claims responsibility for abduction of Katsina school boys, gives reasons

Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the abduction of over 300 students from the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State, last Friday December 11.

HumAngle reports that in a 4 minutes 28 seconds audio released on Monday night December 14, the leader of the deadly terror group, Abubakar Shekau, said contrary to claims made in some quarters, it is yet to make any demands.

“What happened in Katsina was done to promote Islam and discourage un-Islamic practices as Western education is not the type of education permitted by Allah and his Holy Prophet.

They are also not teaching what Allah and his Holy Prophet commanded. They are rather destroying Islam. It may be subtle, but Allah the Lord of the skies and earths knows whatever is hidden. May Allah promote Islam. May we die as Muslims.”

In a nutshell, we are behind what happened in Katsina,” HumAngle quotes him as saying

A top commander of the sect also dismissed claims it has made any demands.

According to commander;

“The only time we spoke with the parents was to warn them to tell the military to desist from making any attempts to forcefully rescue the boys,”

Uganda has been discriminatory towards Nigerians - Nigerian lady recounts

 Uganda has been discriminatory towards Nigerians - Nigerian lady recounts

A Nigerian lady has accused the Ugandan state of being discriminatory against Nigerians, amid the standoff sparked by the arrest of Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems after their performance in the country.

Recounting how she was denied work visa, @politicofareeda alleged that Ugandan authorities held her passport for 7 months because of an appeal. She added that she was given options of canceling her appeal and exiting the country for good, or find another Nigerian to submit their passport for insurance.

The Twitter user also recalled how her lawyer called her a "cunt and bitch" after refusing to pay a bribe.

She tweeted;

I lived in Uganda for a year. The state is very discriminatory towards Nigerians no be today. After denying me a work visa(first time they ever did for the organization I worked for, my predecessors were American/Canadian), they kept my passport for 7 months because of appeal.

I needed to travel for some things and they said my choices were to cancel my appeal and exit the country for good, or find another Nigerian to submit their passport for insurance. They also asked for 800,000 UGX bribe. I refused and my "lawyer" called me a bitch and cunt.

Got so depressed I quit my job(2 year contract turned to 1). Cancelled the appeal and they carried me in an immigration vehicle and escorted me all the way to passport control before they handed my passport to me. It looked like I was being deported even though I wasn't. I cried.

So yeah. Uganda is terrible to us. I have more east african terrible treatment stories but Uganda definitely took the cake.
